Black Mountain Tower

There is nothing worse than being in a city for a few days to few. That was the case when I was in Canberra the other day - I wanted to head up to the Black Mountain Tower. Sadly, I ran out of time, and won't be back for a while.

The walk up Black Mountain is always a favourite of mine - you start off in the Botanic gardens, and climb for about 45 minutes through aussie bush to get to the tower itself.

The Black Mountain Tower, aka the Telstra Tower was completed in 1980, and was built to replace a series of earlier antennae and a studio on the site and red hill, and represents one of the most prominent landmarks in ACT.

These pictures are from March 2010 when I last visited the mountain.
